Our case of the month for November involves the replacement of a single missing tooth using a dental implant
. There are many cases why teeth need to removed and in this case, the reason was due to a failing root canal treatment and infection.
After the tooth was removed, healing is essential to allow the infection to resolve and the tissues to heal. The implant was placed with precision using a CBCT scan.
Due to the advances in modern technology we can offer a wide range of solutions to restore teeth. Why replace a missing tooth:
- Function- eat with confidence and spread the force of eating evenly as nature intended
- Aesthetics- a full set of teeth is related to beauty and health
- Prevent further problems- leaving a gap can lead to movement of teeth, a disruption of the bite, shrinkage of bone and facial profile and makes treatment harder in the longer term
In this case, our patient wished for an all zirconium solution. Please view the pictures below to see how we can predictably replace missing teeth with life like solutions:
Missing molar tooth- a big space and lack of function
Zirconium abutment- no metal above the gum line at all
Implant crown- natural, metal free and incredibly strong. Made from zirconium, this tooth is unlikely to ever fracture
Zirconium abutment with an all zirconium crown. Implant Direct InterActive implant. Treatment completed by Dr Nissit Patel. Photographs are the sole property of Dr Nissit Patel and must not be reproduced.
