We are please to announce that we are now offering a free consultation on dental implants with Dr Nissit Patel. We appreciate that considering treatment with dental implants can be a daunting prospect and one not to be taken lightly.
This is why we feel it is important to get to know the person carrying out your treatment prior to making any final decisions. After all, trust is one of the most important factors with dental care especially implant dentistry.
At the free consultation, you will have a full 30 minutes to discuss your dental history, any problems, aims and desires for treatment. Dr Patel will make an assessment, take photographs and digital x rays of the sites in question. He will provide some general options, treatment procedures and what to expect, time frames and estimate of fees. He will also be able to show you similar cases with before and after photographs to show just what can be achieved with modern day dental implant treatments.
There is absolutely no obligation, no hard sell and no time limited offers. Just plain good advice and how we would expect to be treated.
Should you then wish to proceed with the dental implant treatment, we will need a thorough dental examination, CT scans and study models of your jaws. From this, we can plan your case digitally on our amazing dental implant planning software. After all, planning is the key to success.
In most cases, the implant surgery is done under local anaesthetic in one morning or afternoon session. We now routinely use the amazing Waterlase i Plus instead of the scalpel for surgery. No more blades, minimal trauma and improved healing.
For more complex cases, sedation such as intra venous conscious sedation may be desirable especially if your are anxious about treatment. We have a consultant anaesthetist that provides this service; you will not remember or feel a thing about the surgery!
We normally allow 12 weeks of healing before taking impressions for the new implant teeth. During the healing phase, there are a number of temporary teeth that can be used. This includes the technique 'teeth in a day'. Essentially, this technique provides you with new temporary teeth fitted on the day of surgery. There are certain parameters that must be met to make this possible and this does cost more. However, if this has been planned properly, it is very successful.
During the restorative phase, we can either go straight to fitting of the new tooth/teeth or go to try in stages. This is especially useful for the complex cases where we need to absolutely certain of fitting prior to proceeding with the next stage. Precision is key. Dental implants should last for decades- why rush?
After the new teeth have been fitted, we will need to review them on a regular basis to ensure health. You will need to see a hygienist on regular basis and look after them at home with extra love and care. They are an investment- look after them!
Dr Patel has been involved in implant dentist for over 12 years and has placed and restored hundreds of cases with a fantastic success rate and long term results. In many cases, he has been able to demonstrate bone gain around implants rather than bone re modelling and shrinkage. Experience, expertise, skill and actually caring goes a long way in dentistry and this is paramount in the field of implants.
