Comprehensive examination

General dentistry at its finest

The key to successful dentistry starts with a comprehensive examination. Our principal dentist Dr Patel has developed his own unique initial examination which involves:

  • Jaw joint analysis
  • Facial symmetry and proportions
  • Muscle analysis and evaluation where necessary
  • Full tooth score that includes using a laser cavity detector
  • Full gum score including percentages on bleeding levels and plaque
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Soft tissue analysis
  • Bite evaluation
  • Intra oral photos
  • Digital x rays

An initial comprehensive examination will typically take 45-60 minutes after which Dr Patel will discuss the findings with you. For simple cases a treatment option will be given with a printed treatment plan and estimate. For more advanced cases, we will provide a detailed written report.

For more complicated cases, a further appointment of an hour will be required for a full case assessment. This is usually the case for heavy tooth wear cases, mouth reconstructions, multiple implants and cosmetic smile transformation cases.
