Cosmetic And Functional Correction Of Crooked Lower Teeth

Our case of the month for December involves the cosmetic and functional correction of very crooked lower teeth. Crooked lower teeth can cause all sorts of problems:

1. Poor oral hygiene
2. Major build up of plaque and tartar
3. Gum inflammation
4. Uneven bite
5. Poor aesthetics

Our case is a very typical of very crowded lower teeth causing all of the above. Have a look:

Crooked teeth, poor hygiene, uneven teeth
Crooked lower teeth, is there space to correct them?

The main issue is always space and generally there is a lack of space. After a full and thorough examination, a decision was made to use a full arch lingual brace. The main reason for this was the aesthetic factor; it is truly invisible being on the inside of the teeth. This is certainly not the easiest technique for our client or indeed our dentist, Dr Nissit Patel, but the results speak for themselves. The lingual brace:

Orthodontics, lingual braces, inside braces, hidden braces
The lingual brace in situ. Hidden on the inside of the teeth.

The end result:

Straight teeth, even teeth, fixed retainer
Straight teeth- what a difference!

What a change! The lower front teeth are now straight, even, easy to clean and maintain. Our client was delighted and we are thrilled with the end result. The treatment was completed using STB lingual brackets by Dr Nissit Patel. The photographs are the sole property of Dr Nissit Patel and any reproduction is strictly prohibited. If you are thinking about teeth straightening, lingual braces, invisible braces or cosmetic dentistry in general, give us a call. You will be surprised at what we can offer.

Invisalign Comprehensive to Close Spaces and Improve the Bite

One of the most common comments we encounter when discussing Invisalign with our patients is 'can Invisalign really close large gaps between my teeth?'. The reason for this is that most dentists will say that only fixed braces have enough 'force' to close spaces with any certainty. However, with careful planning and using the latest technology available, we can predictably close gaps and improve the bite using Invisalign.… CONTINUE READING

Our patient was told it was impossible but we managed to straighten her teeth

We love a challenge especially when it concerns teeth straightening and our case of the month treated in October was a great one. Our lovely patient came to us to straighten her front teeth only after years of being down about her smile. She was told by several dentists that it simply was not possible without going through a long drawn out full mouth orthodontic plan. We were happy to take on the challenge head on and after some careful planning, Dr Nissit Patel was able to provide a great result in a few m… CONTINUE READING

Invisalign Comprehensive for severe crowding

Our case of the month for February is a fantastic one which highlights the extent of the versatility of the Invisalign system. It truly is a replacement for fixed braces with many benefits. In the past, it was correct to say that certain cases could not be treated with Invisalign and that fixed ( train track) braces were the only option. However, times change, technology advances and the advent of digital dentistry has changed the landscape of dental care.… CONTINUE READING
