Fastbraces

We are extremely excited to announce the arrival of Fastbraces at Progressive Dentistry. Fastbraces is an orthodontic system developed in the USA. As the name suggests, the technique is generally far quicker than conventional techniques. WHAT IS FASTBRACES? Fastbraces is a unique fixed dental brace that is fitted to the outside of the teeth. It is unlike any other dental brace system. HOW DOES IT WORK? The reason Fastbraces is so different is that the unique brackets and wires move the teeth and roots at the SAME time and from the very beginning of treatment. In typical cases, the teeth are moved first (in the first year) and then the roots of the teeth are moved (in the second year). The aim of Fastbraces is to straighten teeth quickly, in an easy and safe manner and provide a stable result. HOW QUICKLY CAN TEETH BE STRAIGHTENED? In simple cases, treatment can be in as little as 3 visits or 3 months. The more complex cases may require more time but usually HALF the time as a conventional brace. CAN I HAVE FASTBRACES? Yes, Fastbraces are suitable for adults and children. DOES FASTBRACES HAVE AN INVISIBLE BRACE OPTION? Although not invisible, there is a fantastic ceramic brace which is very discreet. This has just been released and provides an aesthetic solution for those who do not wish to wear metal brackets. IS IT STABLE? Yes. This has been proved with over 20 years of cases and studies. In fact, Fastbraces are the only company that provide a WORLDWIDE LIFE TIME SATISFACTION GUARANTEE. Yes, this is correct. A life time guarantee! This means that if you need braces again for whatever reason, you will NOT have to pay again for Fastbraces in your lifetime. WHEN CAN I START? Straight away! Call us today.

Dental orthodontic retainers

At the end of orthodontic treatment, retainers must be worn otherwise you run the risk of undoing all of the hard work straightening your teeth. This is called relapse. We advise a combination approach of a fixed wire retainer placed behind the front teeth as well using a removable retainer at night. Fixed Retainer In most cases, we will place the fixed wire retainer immediately after the brace has been removed so that the risk of relapse is minimal. The great advantage of a fixed wire retainer is that it… READ MORE

Case of the Month February 2021

Our case of the month for last month is a stunning case which involves a smile transformation using three techniques:1. Lingual Braces2. Tooth whitening using a take home whitening kit 3. Cosmetic bonding We like to call this a Progressive Smile transformation as there is no drilling, no injections, no pain and the process is affordable and easy to maintain. In contrast to porcelain veneers or crowns which require drilling away of healthy tooth enamel to cover the teeth with the ceramic. Granted, this may l… READ MORE

Case of the month December/January 2020/2021

Time has flown by and we forgot to post our case of the month for December so we have decided to combine them with a tremendous case study involving a complete smile transformation. Our client really hated her smile. The main issues were that the smile was not wide enough, the back teeth caved in so that they were not visible on photos and the bite was all over the place. As well as teeth crowding and an overall yellow shade, so a number of aesthetic problems. After careful planning, which is always the key… READ MORE
