Teeth can be lost for various reasons such as tooth decay, trauma, failed root canal treatments or periodontal (gum) disease. The loss of teeth can have a significant impact on not only everyday function but aesthetics and general confidence when out and about. Replacing missing teeth is vital as this will restore function ( eating is important!) , improve aesthetics and prevent the adjacent and opposing teeth from moving into undesirable positions. The latter is a particular problem if the teeth are not replaced for a few years as this will make any dental implant treatment far more complicated.

Planning is the key to successWhen considering dental implant treatment, planning is the key. With the amazing technology we now have available 3D planning using CBCT scans, intra oral scans and digital planning software allows us to virtually place the implants and then create a guide to position the implant in the best possible location. We plan from the final end result i.e with the actual implant crown which is called a 'prosthetically driven' treatment plan. |
Case of the Month May 2025Our case of the month for May 2025 involves multiple teeth which was affecting our patients ability to chew. Soft foods were the order of the day and she greatly missed eating meat. Just take a look at the before and after photographs: |

Most of the back teeth are missing which meant that eating was a chore with a soft diet only

Teeth have been restored using bridges on dental implants. Full function has been restored and our patient can now enjoy a lovely steak!
